Kitfit Kitchens is a proud family-run business based in Thames, dedicated to providing reliable and affordable kitchen solutions. Founded by a father-and-son team, Larry and Stephen, we bring over 10 years of combined experience in cabinetry and renovations to every project. We started our journey working on motorhome interiors – crafting kitchens and cabinetry in tight spaces taught us creativity and precision. In 2021, inspired to bring that same craftsmanship to homeowners in the Thames–Coromandel and wider Waikato region, we launched Kitfit Kitchens to make high-quality kitchen makeovers accessible to our local community.

Our Story

When we first opened our doors, Kitfit Kitchens offered flat-pack kitchen assembly and installation services. We noticed right away that our clients were thrilled to have help putting together new kitchens and cabinetry. But we also heard a recurring question: “Can you just replace the doors on my existing cabinets?” or “Is there a way to fix up my kitchen without completely gutting it?” Realizing that people in our area were seeking affordable ways to update their kitchens, we expanded our services.

We began providing cabinet door and panel replacements – essentially giving kitchens a facelift by keeping the sturdy frames and updating the outward appearance. The concept was a hit: homeowners could keep their old kitchen layout, avoid a full demolition, and still enjoy a brand-new look without the new-kitchen price tag. From there, our business evolved quickly. We added benchtop replacements, so clients could swap out worn or dated countertops for new ones. We started offering hardware upgrades – simple swaps like new handles, modern hinges, and soft-close drawer slides that greatly improve the feel of a kitchen. And of course, we continue to design and install brand-new kitchens for those who need an entirely fresh start, always with an eye on delivering value for money.

Today, Kitfit Kitchens has grown into a one-stop shop for kitchen improvements big and small. We’re incredibly proud to be one of the few companies in the Thames and Coromandel area that offers specialized services like tune-ups and facelifts alongside full kitchen renovations.
